In this peice I decided to go for a magical look. I used my nephew as a subject and I adjusted the contrast. For a magical and cartoonish look, I used a paint brush to paint the background. I chose a dark blue color. I added a red border with the galazy brush, and for the stars i used the sparks brush. The mood is lighthearted and boyish.

This photo was not taken by me, but I did to editing to it. I cropped out quite a bit, just leaving the singer's upper body and fog behind him. By cropping it this way, it draws the eye into the subject. I put a fancy type of font called scriptina to put in the fog. By doing so, while reading the text you automatically find the focus point, the singer.
I chose to use a couple of colors that really show contrast between one another. To show the contrast I created multiple layers, one a black and white one, and the other the colored photo. I erased on where the pink parts were on the grey layer so the pink color would show through. I also used a sharpening filter and upped the contrast. I also cropped this photo. I like the mysterious yet funky mood is projected from this photo.
I decided to do a peice of my dog that recently died. When he died it really shook things up, and nothing seemed right. To describe those feelings I think of disappearance and a sense of moving. To create that shooken up feeling, I used the wind filter.
I also added a text to my peice to balance the photo out. I used the wind filter on that as well as the gausian blur filter. I adjusted the contrast and cropped the photo to focus more on the subject. All the filters and effects I used is what reminded me of death and sadness. None of it seems right and you can't see things clearly.

I wanted to create a peaceful mood and a sense of serenity. I find nature very calming so nature was the best choice in my opinion to create that peaceful look. It's a little difficult to tell what exactly is in the picture, but it's a creek surrounded by trees and plants. The mystery pulls you into the peice and to increase the mystery I decided to up the contrast, reduced the saturation, and used a sharpening filter. This photo was taken from a bird's eyes view which to mean causes a sense of security.
For this peice I decided to go for an angelic look. The subject is my neice and it really focuses on her. The two pictures I chose capture her personality and I wanted
to emphasize her beauty so to do so I used the soft glow filter. I also lowered the saturation to make the picture look softer. I cropped each photo, and for the first photo I edited out the background and left only her in the picture. To complete my peice I combined the images using the filmstrip feature.

In this peice, contrast was a very important element. I made the contrast a lot higher to show the difference between the kitten's eyes against his black fur. There's also a strong contrast between the kitten and the background.
I cropped this photo a great deal to put more focus on the subject and less on the hay. I also used a soft glow filter which also helped show the contrast as well as creating a peaceful look. I went for a playful and peaceful mood for this peice which is seen by the contrast and glow effect. I also put a text along the bottom to bring the peice together. I used a font named new romantics, which gives off a playful vibe. I used stroke selection to make the text thicker, and then I filled the selection with a tree bark pattern.

In this photo I used multiple layers to create the mood I hoped for. The red and yellow create a warm, comfortable feeling. I duplicated my image and for the first layer I used the cartoon filter and upped the contrast. For the second layer I adjusted the red color to make it more bold. I did this by making the hue higher and adjusted the colors. After i had both layers the way I wanted, on the second layer I erased where the subjects were and the cartoonified subjects were shown. I took the picture at eye level so the viewers could connect with the subjects better. The text also goes along with the comfortable, friendly feeling. I used a font called boopee, which is casual. I placed the text in part of the red area to balance out the red and the focus point, the cat and boy. I also used a diagnol brush to create an x.
